On Monday 6th Aug after torrential rain the river was hit by flash flooding rising to around 7.5ft – this coincided with high pressure moving in and the arrival of a substantial number of grilse.
Rods out on Tuesday had some bumper catches! Some rods were left very frustrated that they couldn’t keep a hold of the grilse but a few big fish in the mix added to some good bags.
I’m away at the Tay for a few days – will update with more details on my return. Here is the overview for Tuesday until then…..
Balnowlart had ten – including four for me!
Knockdolian had seventeen including a 17lb for Lord Richard.
Dalreoch had nine, Colmonell Angling Club had six, Kirkhill had six and Almont also had six.
As I say, I will update with more details when I can – hopefully Sun night.
